Nightmare Dungeons

Sigil-opened dungeons with added modifiers.

How it works

A Nightmare Sigil turns an ordinary dungeon into a harder version with affixes. Use the sigil from its own inventory tab and the dungeon is marked on your map. Difficulty follows your Torment tier.

Getting sigils

Sigils come from the Tree of Whispers, Whisper Caches and other Nightmare Dungeons. You can also craft them at the Occultist. Salvaging unwanted sigils gives Sigil Powder, the crafting material, which is shared across your characters on the same realm.

Escalating Nightmares

An Escalation Sigil chains three Nightmare Dungeons back to back, and each one keeps the affixes of the last. From Torment I the chain ends with a fight against Astaroth. Escalation Sigils drop from Horadric caches and Strongrooms.

Rewards

Season 15

Nightmare Dungeons are one of the two reputation activities for the Splinter of Hatred, along with The Pit. The Gem Reserve affix is a popular way to farm Soul Splinters.
