Patch 3.2.3: the Prime Evil splinter fix, out 14 October
If you used a splinter before finishing the seasonal questline, your Prime Evil Powers may be locked. This patch stops it happening, but it doesn't fix characters already affected.
Patch 3.2.3 lands on 14 October. It is another bug fix patch with no balance changes.
The one to know about
If you used a Splinter of a Prime Evil before you finished the seasonal questline, your Prime Evil Powers could end up locked. The patch stops this from happening to anyone new, but characters already caught by it are not reset.
Blizzard's advice is to make a new character in the same mode (Normal or Hardcore, Seasonal or SSF) and finish the seasonal questline on it. That unlocks Prime Evil Powers for every character in that mode. It is annoying, but it is quicker than waiting for a fix that isn't coming.
Our take: finish the questline before you socket any splinters. Every guide on UniqueDrop assumes you have.
Other fixes
- The Horadric Cube can now reroll Impairment Reduction, Barrier Generation, +Healing and Critical Strike Damage. That last one is good news for most of our guides, since Critical Strike Damage is a key stat on so many of them.
- Tyrael no longer stands on top of Baal's loot.
- The Sandstone Golem in the Horadric Library comes back if you die during the fight.
- The Countess in the Forgotten Tower can no longer walk through the fog wall.
- Every monster now drops Unbroken Bones during the Necromancer quest Call of the Underworld.
