Dance of Knives Rogue

Overview

Dance of Knives throws knives at everything around you while you keep moving. Poison Imbuement causes massive damage over time, and Cold & Shadow Imbuements freeze and explode everything in their sight, so the knives hit harder the longer a fight goes on.

We think it's the easiest Rogue to pick up this season. It's quick, it feels great to play, and it's also one of the fastest ways to level a Rogue. If you just want a reliable farmer for every part of the endgame, this is a very good place to start.

Strengths

• Simple to play, since the knives aim themselves
• Very fast, with high Movement Speed
• Poison, Cold, and Shadow Imbuements
• Also a strong levelling build

Weaknesses

• Crowd control can break your channel
• You have to keep moving to deal damage
• Full boss damage relies on freezing, damage over time, and Stagger

• Chest: Everliving Aspect. Affixes: Dexterity, Maximum Life. Sockets: Moni, Qua.
• Gloves: Aspect of Imitated Imbuement. Affixes: Damage Over Time Multiplier, Vulnerable Damage Multiplier.
• Pants: Any rare. Affixes: Dexterity, Maximum Life, Armor. Sockets: Emerald, Emerald.
• Boots: Penitent Greaves. Affixes: Movement Speed, Maximum Life, Poison Resistance.
• Amulet: Aspect of Accursed Touch. Affixes: Damage Over Time Multiplier, All Damage Multiplier. Sockets: Lesser Splinter of Hellfire.
• Ring 1: Any rare. Affixes: Dexterity, Vulnerable Damage Multiplier. Sockets: Lesser Splinter of the Black Soulstone.
• Ring 2: Any rare. Affixes: Dexterity, Vulnerable Damage Multiplier. Sockets: Diamond.
• Main hand: Aspect of Channeling. Affixes: Dexterity, Vulnerable Damage Multiplier, Damage Over Time Multiplier. Sockets: Emerald, Emerald.
• Off hand: Any rare. Affixes: Weapon Damage, All Damage Multiplier. Sockets: Emerald.
• Weapon 3: Any rare. Affixes: Weapon Damage, All Damage Multiplier. Sockets: Emerald.

How to play

Rotation

• Keep Shadow Clone up. Relentless makes it hit harder and raises your Ferocity.
• Cast Concealment every six seconds for the Legacy of the Sightless bonuses.
• Hold Dance of Knives and keep moving.
• Keep Poison Imbuement running all the time.
• Recast Dark Shroud when you take heavy hits.

Getting started

• Find a Cowl of the Nameless as soon as you can - the build relies on it.
• Stone of Jordan is essential for keeping resistances in check with minimal investment.
• Equip Etna's Lost Dagger as soon as it drops - this is massive damage.
• Enigma is optional, but there aren't many better Chests out there.

Stats to look for

• On weapons, look for Damage Over Time first, then Vulnerable Damage, Dexterity, Maximum Life and Poison Damage.
• On gloves, look for Ranks to Dance of Knives, Vulnerable Damage, and Damage Over Time.
• On the amulet, look for Vulnerable Damage, Poison Damage, Damage Over Time, and Rank to All Skills.

Paragon

• Just follow the Boards

Talisman

• Use a Legendary Horadric Seal with +1 Charm Slot and all five pieces of Legacy of the Sightless. If you can also roll Poison Resistance and Ranks to Cutthroat/Marksman skills, you're in a good place.
• Put Sea Lord's Fine Gloves in the last slot.

Season 15

• We bind the Splinter of the Black Soulstone, Splinter of Pain, and Splinter of Hellfire.
• Runes are BacQue and YaxVex
• Hire Subo, and bring Raheir to cast Bastion whenever you channel Dance of Knives.
